The old Continuing Studies website had many issues. It was hard to update, hard to add new content, and nearly impossible to improve the SEO. On top of that, the student registration system was doubling as a CMS, something it wasn’t built to do. So we had to rebuild the website from the ground up.
My tasks on the project
I was in charge of the website content strategy. My tasks included:
Creating a website task group made up of Program Coordinators and other staff
Coordinating a comprehensive content audit
Creating content templates to match the layout of the new web pages
Conducting an SEO audit and creating an SEO strategy
Editing and proofreading all website content (600+ pages)
Writing new website content
Training staff on how to use the new CMS
Building new web pages using the new CMS
Pushing for (and eventually implementing) better e-commerce tracking with Google Tag Manager
