Unlike many people who move into copywriting from adjacent fields, I trained as a writer first, earning a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Victoria with a focus on nonfiction and professional communication.
Studying writing taught me something essential: how to give and receive feedback.
Real writing is collaborative. The best work happens when ideas are tested, questioned, and improved together. That’s why I actively invite clear, honest feedback from clients. We both want to get the message right, which means there’s no room (or time) for ego.
Most recently, I was a Senior Copywriter and Content Strategist at Brightvision, where I also led the creative team, managed writers and designers, contributed to pitches, and helped shape content strategies for global B2B clients.
I’ve also worked with Bambuser, a live-shopping technology company, where I created customer education and self-service content. Bambuser was a predominantly women-led organization, something I was proud to be part of, and an experience that reinforced how energizing it is to work in female-driven environments.
Earlier, as Digital Content Manager at Novacura, I helped establish their content program, build their blog, and implement marketing systems like HubSpot and lead scoring. Some of the content I created there continues to be among the most-read on their site.
Those roles taught me how to think strategically, collaborate across cultures, and balance creativity with business goals. Today, I bring that perspective to every project I take on.
